MyRoadSafety allows you to safely manage your driver information, test bookings, permits and licences from the comfort of your own home.  

Waiting for a Test Date?

When you register with MyRoadSafety you can set your driving goal. If no suitable test dates are available you will be presented with a facility to be placed on a waiting list. When new driving test slots become available you will be contacted to advise you of this and invite you to log onto MyRoadSafety to make your driving test booking.

Need a test urgently?

If you are an essential worker and require an urgent test in connection with that work, then you can request a test here.

Statement from the Minister of Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross, and the Road Safety Authority (RSA) in relation to the National Driver Licence Service (NDLS), the National Car Testing Service (NCT)

The Minister of Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross and the RSA have confirmed that the National Driver Licence Service (NDLS), the National Car Testing Service (NCT), as well as the Commercial Vehicle Testing System are suspended until further notice with immediate effect.

Statement in relation to Commercial Vehicle Testing

In light of the Government’s announcement on Friday 27 March, extending public restrictions in response to the Coronavirus, the Commercial Vehicle Testing System (CVRT) will not be open for business on Saturday 28 March. Further information concerning CVRT testing will be published as quickly as possible as soon as the Government’s decision has been reviewed by the RSA.

Statement in relation to the National Driver Licence Service (NDLS) and the National Car Testing Service (NCT)

Further to the Government’s announcement this evening, Friday 27 March, extending public restrictions in response to the Coronavirus, the National Driver Licence Service (NDLS) and the National Car Testing Service (NCT)will not be open for business on Saturday 28 March. Pending a further review on Saturday a decision will be made in relation to the delivery of services in the days ahead.

Important notice on Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) During Covid-19 Out break

Due to the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 crisis, professional bus and truck drivers may encounter some difficulty in undertaking their annual CPC training at the current time. In order to ensure a continuous flow of goods within the EU, drivers with valid Irish Driver CPC cards that are due to expire during the current Covid 19 outbreak will be granted an extension of a maximum of six months up to the 26th September 2020.

Suspension of requirement for over 70’s to provide medical report when applying for a driving licence

In light of the need to facilitate social distancing and the expected additional burdens on medical services from Covid-19, the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross, has decided that the requirement for those over 70 (under certain circumstance) to provide a medical report shall be removed at this time.
