Replacement vehicle documents
Replacing your National Car Test (NCT) certificate, certificate of roadworthiness (CRW) or ADR certificate.
By law you should have a valid NCT, CRW or ADR certificate (where applicable) for your vehicle while it's being used on a public road. If any of these documents have been lost, stolen or damaged you need to replace them as soon as possible.
Replacing your NCT certificate and disc
Duplicate NCT certificates and discs are issued by the National Car Testing Service (NCTS). Download and complete the application form (RF134)
- Have your completed application form stamped and signed by a member of An Garda Síochána at a garda station
- Post the form along with your windscreen disc and/or NCT certificate (if you still have them) and a bank draft or postal order to the value of €15.50 made payable to ‘Applus Inspection Services Ireland Ltd’ and send them to:

Replacing your NCT report
Apply for an NCT replacement report by providing the car registration number, make, model and your details along with a bank draft or postal order to the value of €15.50 made payable to ‘Applus Inspection Services Ireland Ltd’ and post them to:

Replacing your CRW certificate and disc
Applying online
To apply online for a replacement CRW certificate you will need:
- your vehicle registration number
- the first date of registration or the last four digits of the VIN/chassis number.
Applying by post
To apply by post for a replacement CRW certificate you will need to:
- Download and complete the application form:
- Have your completed application form stamped and signed by a member of An Garda Síochána at a garda station.
- Post the form with a bank draft or postal order for €7.00 made payable to the ‘Road Safety Authority’ to:

Your replacement CRW will be sent to the registered owner’s address according to the national vehicle driver file. You will find the registered owner details on the vehicle registration certificate. Replacing your ADR certificate
If you need a replacement ADR certificate, you will need to enclose a cheque for €36.30 made payable to the ‘Road Safety Authority’ with the vehicle registration number written on the back and send to:
