Henry Ford & Son Limited recalls certain Ford Fiesta and EcoSport passenger vehicles

JUNE 15, 2021

Henry Ford & Son Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain Ford Fiesta and EcoSport passenger vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified whereby two locking mechanisms are required for the safety belt retraction: one for high G force and one for low G force. The vehicles in question may have a defective low-G blocker mechanism, meaning that, in the event of sudden braking, passengers may fly forwards. Vehicles in the Fiesta and EcoSport ranges may have been equipped with faulty seatbelt reel mechanisms. There is the possibility that, in the event of sudden braking, passengers might not be held in position and could suffer injury.

There are 122 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between 5 February 2021 to 9 March 2021.

What to do:

Henry Ford & Son Limited has sent a letter to affected customers informing them of the recall and the next steps to be taken.

If you believe that your vehicle may be impacted by this recall, then you can contact Henry Ford & Son Limited on 1800 771 199 or use the Dealer Locator here to find your nearest Ford service point.

Henry Ford & Son Limited recalls certain ‘Ford S-Max, Galaxy’ passenger vehicles

MARCH 2, 2021

Henry Ford & Son Limited is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain ‘Ford S-Max, Galaxy’ passenger vehicles.

The vehicles were produced between 20 January 2015 and 18 February 2020.

A safety issue has been identified whereby the original control arm bolts on the rear suspension of certain S-Max and Galaxy vehicles are prone to corrosion; this may cause the screws to fail. If the bolt fails, the steering control of the vehicle is reduced, and this increases the risk of an accident. There are approximately 2,039 vehicles affected on the Irish market.
