No. You can apply for your driving test while undertaking EDT and add yourself to the waiting list however, you won’t be able to book an appointment until your first learner permit is six months valid and you’ve completed all 12 EDT sessions

Reduced EDT

If you've been approved for reduced EDT, you are exempt from the six months rule and you only need to complete the 6 Reduced EDT sessions (Session1/5/6/7/9/10).
