Young Scientist
Celebrating student innovation in road safety.
The BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (BTYSTE) is more than just a competition, it’s a chance for young minds to shine and for big ideas to take centre stage. As always, the RSA is thrilled to be part of this event, celebrating student innovation with an award for the best road safety-related project.
More than 4,000 students from 352 schools across Ireland brought their creativity and problem-solving skills to the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (BTYSTE) in 2025, with an impressive 2,069 projects submitted.
These cover a wide range of topics in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and 550 shortlisted projects will proudly represent their schools and communities at the RDS from 8 to 11 January 2025.
Below is some footage from last year's event.
Your chance to win a gaming console

Be sure to visit our Shuttle and Rollover simulator at the exhibition to learn more about road safety and enter the competition. (T&Cs apply.)
