Awareness Campaign Launched for new Roadside Drug Impairment Testing

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) and An Garda Síochána today launched their Christmas and New Year Road Safety Campaign in co-operation with the Medical Bureau for Road Safety in UCD, Dublin today 27 Thursday, 2014. The focus of this year’s campaign is the launch of an awareness campaign to raise awareness of Roadside Impairment Testing (RIT), which has been introduced by the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Mr Paschal Donohoe.

Road Safety Alert – Widespread FOG

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) today Wednesday 26 November is renewing its appeal for road users to be aware of the dangers posed by dense fog following an updated ORANGE Weather Warning from Met Éireann forecasting fog across Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Westmeath, Meath, Leitrim and Roscommon today until tomorrow morning.

Road Safety Alert – Widespread FOG

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is warning road users today Tuesday 25 November of the dangers posed by dense fog following an ORANGE Weather Warning from Met Éireann forecasting widespread fog across the country this evening. Dense fog will develop in many places tonight and will lead to greatly reduced visibilities and poor driving conditions. The fog is likely to clear only slowly during Wednesday.

Government launches the ‘Be Winter-Ready’ 2014-2015

Today, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Mr. Paschal Donohoe T.D., the Minister for Defence, Mr. Simon Coveney, T.D., (Chair of the Government Task Force on Emergency Planning) and the Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government, Mr. Paudie Coffey T.D., jointly launched the Government’s ‘Be Winter-Ready’ 2014-2015 Information Campaign at the National Emergency Coordination Centre in Dublin.
