Toyota Ireland recalls certain TOYOTA YARIS passenger vehicles

Toyota Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall of certain TOYOTA Yaris passenger vehicles.

The affected vehicles were produced between Sept 2020 – April 2021

A safety issue has been identified with the affected vehicles whereby due to an inappropriate software of the Skid control ECU (Electronic Control Unit) which monitors and controls various functions related to the brake system, the ECU may not complete all of its processing tasks. If this were to occur, multiple warning lights will illuminate on the vehicle's instrument panel, and the electronic parking brake etc. will become inoperative.

There are 1,582 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland.

What to do:

Toyota Ireland will directly contact all affected customers by post advising them to make an appointment with their local Authorised Repairer where any necessary repairs/replacements of parts will be carried out.
