Hyundai recalls certain IONIQ model passenger vehicles

AUGUST 12, 2021

Hyundai Cars Ireland is carrying out a voluntary recall on certain IONIQ (AE EV) model passenger vehicles.

A safety issue has been identified, whereby an electrical short internally within battery cell(s) increases the risk of a vehicle fire while parked and charging.

There are 399 vehicles affected in the Republic of Ireland that were produced between the June 2019 – January 2020.

What to do:

Hyundai Cars Ireland will directly contact all affected customers advising them to make an appointment with their local Hyundai dealer or authorised repairer, where necessary works will be carried out on vehicles. If you believe that your vehicle may be impacted by this recall, you can contact your local Hyundai dealer or Hyundai Cars Ireland’s customer care by telephone 01 460 9800 (during office hours) or by completing the following web form.
