There are approximately 2.5 million vehicles registered for use on Irish roads. Nearly all vehicles are imported and must meet specific technical standards before entering into service here. Once in service, they must meet other vehicle standards & regularly pass road-worthiness inspections.
A number of changes to the NCT are coming into force during 2018 with the first of these changes implemented on the 20th May 2018. The purpose of these changes is to unify vehicle inspections across the EU. Find out more.
