Urgent tests can only be offered to essential workers at this time
Check if you are an essential worker.
If you are an essential worker who has already applied for a driving test and need it urgently, please click on the 'Request Urgent Test' button below.
If you have not yet applied for a driving test, you must first sign up or log into our customer portal MyRoadSafety.ie and follow the instructions to apply for a test. Once this has been done and you have added yourself to the waiting list, you can then complete the urgent test request form to prioritise your application.
Please note that, even if you're an essential worker, you must have completed all 12 of your Essential Driver Training (EDT) sessions before sitting a test. This applies to car drivers only. Motorcyclists must have completed their Initial Basic Training (IBT).

If your request for an urgent test is successful, we will contact you directly when driving test appointments become available. At that point you will be invited to book a test.
Please note that appointment slots are by invitation only, so once your request for an urgent test has been accepted, you do not need to take any further action until you receive your booking invitation from us.
