2018 Another Record Low for Road Fatalities

Provisional road collision statistics for 2018 show Ireland continued to improve its road safety performance by recording a 4% drop in road deaths, making it the safest year since road deaths were first recorded in 1959.

He has confirmed to us that he has satisfied the Gardai in relation to the security and safety of the structure, which gives the necessary reassurance. Furthermore the Councillor has confirmed that the necessary insurance is also in place. The Councillor confirmed that he will also take on board our concerns. Ends

Ireland’s Road Safety Champions presented with ‘Leading Light in Road Safety’ Awards for 2018

The students of an enterprising girls’ national school in Co. Louth who tackled the use of mobile phones by their parents in cars have been awarded the Road Safety Authority (RSA) ‘Gertie Shields Supreme Award’ in road safety for 2018. The award was presented to students from Castletown Girls National School by RSA Chairperson Liz O’Donnell at the 11th annual ‘Leading Lights in Road Safety’ Awards at Croke Park.

Road Safety Alert: Orange Weather Warning Issued for Donegal and Mayo

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is asking road users to exercise caution while using the roads in the early hours of Friday morning as Met Éireann have issued an orange weather warning for strong winds.
