Frequently asked questions

Common queries relating to Driver CPC answered here.

Q. 1:   I cannot set up my CPC portal?

Firstly, you must either have already undergone Driver CPC periodic refresher training with an RSA approved CPC Trainer, or recently passed your four Driver CPC tests;

  • To view your Driver CPC Training Records, click on MY CPC
  • You will then need to register using your driver number, email address and date of birth.

NOTES:

  • It will not be possible to create your MY CPC account if you have not yet started Driver CPC periodic refresher training.
  • You must have a valid email address to use the CPC Driver portal as this is where the system will send your password to allow you to access the portal.
  • The email address should be the same email address that you provided to your CPC Training Organisation when you first registered with them
  • After you have created your MY CPC account you should copy and paste the password you would have received from us in your emails.

Q2:  I cannot get into my CPC portal account

Ensure you are using the same email address that you provided to your CPC Training Organisation when you first registered with them. Ensure that you copy and paste the password you would have received from us in your emails on your initial set up of your MY CPC portal.

Q 3:  I have completed all my CPC Exam stages i.e. CPC Case Study Test, CPC Theory Test, Driving Test and CPC Practical Test and have submitted my CPC card declaration form but have not received my CPC card yet

Example 1:  Results have not been received from Prometric. Drivers should be requested to forward a copy of their results sheet by email to cpc@rsa.ie so that we can follow up the issue with Prometric.

Example 2:  Exams have expired.  CPC Case Studies exam and the 30 min Practical Test must be complete within 2 years of passing the theory test.

Q4: My CPC training modules are showing as non-compliant

Drivers should be advised that they are required to do one days training per year over a five year period and when they are late or early doing training it shows up on their record as non-compliant.  Drivers need to be reassured that this won’t affect them getting a card but that they are required to email cpc@rsa.ie with their driver number advising the reason they undertook their training late or early in order for us to make them compliant.

Q.5: I have not been driving professionally for the last 5 years but have now completed all my training/exams

Where a driver has completed their 5/6 days of training within a five year period and they have already been issued a CPC card but are requesting an extension of the expiry date of this card (their card would currently have an expiry date of September, 2018 for buses and 2019 for trucks) and they have informed us that they have not been driving professionally for a number of years they should complete a return to Professional Driving Declaration form.

Where a driver has completed their 5/6 days of training within a five year period and never been issued a CPC card they should complete a Return to Professional Driving Declaration form along with a CPC Card Application Form.
A driver who has not got acquired rights but has completed the three/four stage exams process but did not make an application to obtain a CPC Card at the time of completing - they should complete the Return to Professional Driving Declaration form and the CPC Driver Declaration form.

Q.6: How do I apply for a replacement CPC card

To apply for a replacement CPC card application form contact the RSA by emailing cpc@rsa.ie

Q.7: My CPC Portal will not accept my password

After you have created your MY CPC account you should copy and paste the password you would have received from us in your emails due to the mixture of letters and numbers.

Q.8: My internet browser will not allow me to log on to my CPC portal

The CPC portal does not currently support google chrome. For example
Internet browsers which are supported are Google, Internet explorer, Firefox Mozilla.
