How to apply

If you are making an application for a workshop card (PDF) you can:

Apply by post:

Apply by post, in which case you should submit your completed workshop card application form to:

Apply in person:

Apply in person by attending at our public office, with your application form and photocopies of supporting documentation (certificate of digital tachograph training course, proof of identity).

In the case of first time applications a passport sized photograph is required


A digital tachograph card for a workshop costs €60 - credit or debit card details only. Cash, postal orders, cheques or bank drafts are not accepted methods of payment.

How long does it take?

It can take between 3 and 4 weeks to process a valid application for a Digital Tachograph workshop card. Please ensure that you allow plenty of time for your application to be processed.

Invalid or incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant.

Filling out the application form

Application forms should be completed in block capitals in black ink.


Make sure you go through the checklist on the application to avoid a delay in your application being processed.

NOTE! - Workshop fitters must be a person of good repute and provide proof that they have the necessary qualifications.
